Special honour for ARGUS: last week, ARGUS Additive Plastics GmbH was officially recognised as a climate protection company in Berlin. The award was presented by Carsten Träger, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, who honoured five companies for their exemplary achievements in the field of energy and resource efficiency.
‘For ARGUS, this award is clear confirmation that we are on the right track,’ says Managing Director Sascha Hirsch. The company has been focusing on sustainable solutions for years and has already successfully implemented numerous projects, including the expansion of photovoltaic systems for generating its own electricity, the installation of power grid filters for stabilising the grid, and the replacement of old production facilities with energy-efficient extrusion systems. A new building is currently being constructed at the company site, which also meets the latest energy and construction standards and will be equipped with a photovoltaic system, green roofing, geothermal energy and heat pumps.
The new members of the cross-industry association Klimaschutz-Unternehmen e.V. (Climate Protection Companies) previously passed through a multi-stage selection process involving around 130 applicants, which was conducted by an independent panel of experts. The decisive factor for admission was the high level of commitment to German and European climate targets – a claim that makes ARGUS a pioneer in its industry. The association currently brings together 72 companies of all sizes that pursue climate protection, environmental protection or adaptation to the climate crisis as a strategic corporate goal. With their best practices, they demonstrate how energy and resource efficiency can be successfully implemented.
Shareholder Andre Hirsch emphasised at the award ceremony: ‘At ARGUS, we attach great importance to protecting our environment and using resources responsibly. As a team, we have set ourselves ambitious sustainability goals in order to make an important contribution to a more sustainable and liveable environment.’
ARGUS is looking forward to working together in the network and to jointly providing new ideas for a climate-friendly future.
