Two new containers in our corporate design have been installed on our company premises. Both containers contain our new refrigeration systems, which continuously supply the cold water required for our production processes.

This investment brings two production halls up to the latest standards in refrigeration technology. In addition, a winter protection system has been installed, ensuring that in winter, when the outside temperature falls below 13 °C, the cooling water no longer needs to be cooled by the compressors, but is instead cooled in a highly energy-efficient manner using the outside air.

The special feature of both systems is that ARGUS is using a natural refrigerant (propane) for the first time. The key advantage of this refrigerant lies in its extremely low Global Warming Potential (GWP). With a GWP of just 3, the release of one kilogram of propane gas is equivalent to the emission of just 3 kilograms of CO₂. This figure is particularly relevant as, in refrigeration systems, parts of the refrigerant can escape into the environment over the long term.

This investment boosts our energy efficiency and makes our refrigeration processes more sustainable through the use of a natural refrigerant. Furthermore, the risk of production downtime is significantly reduced, as both systems are designed with redundancy. The entire implementation period lasted from September 2025 to February 2026, although planning for this project had been underway since spring 2025. The total investment for the two refrigeration systems and the containers amounts to around one million euros.
